In 2026, Forward Festival arrives in Frankfurt RheinMain for the very first time – and does so at a moment when the city is firmly in the international spotlight. Taking place on June 11–12, 2026, Forward Festival Frankfurt joins the official program of World Design Capital 2026, bringing its signature mix of inspiration, exchange, and action to the heart of the RheinMain region.

Hosted at Massif E, a newly opened cultural venue in central Frankfurt, the Festival unfolds across two days and multiple stages, featuring a carefully curated program of more than 25 international and local speakers, complemented by creative side events and happenings. True to Forward’s DNA, the focus lies on empowering creatives with ideas, tools, and perspectives that move beyond inspiration and into action.

DESIGN FOR DEMOCRACY, CREATIVITY FOR CHANGE

World Design Capital 2026 explores the theme “Design for Democracy”, asking how design can actively shape social and cultural change. It’s a question that sits at the core of Forward’s mindset: creativity matters most when it moves something forward.

By taking place during Open Design Week Frankfurt RheinMain, Forward Festival becomes part of a wider creative ecosystem. It’s a moment where creatives, businesses, and academic institutions come together – to exchange ideas, challenge perspectives, and shape what’s next. Forward adds its own layer to that conversation: real insights from people who are already doing the work.
