WDC WORKSHOP: YOUR MESSAGE ON A POSTCARD
SIDE EVENT Workshops at offenbar e.V. use artistic printmaking to explore how people live together in today’s society. Through various printing techniques, participants create a space for dialogue on key social issues.

A small format with a big impact: the postcard. It passes from hand to hand, moves through spaces, and crosses borders. Along the way, it carries greetings, thoughts, and at times even protest. It stands as a symbol of freedom, exchange, and the issues that matter to people.
This creative workshop series approaches democracy and the question of how we want to live together in the future through artistic practice. Using techniques such as linocut, letterpress, and color, participants design their own postcards - small messages that set out into the world.
Participants are encouraged to reflect on community and the society of tomorrow: What should a postcard of freedom convey? Which words, images, or personal marks can express it? Through shared creative work, the series becomes both a celebration of freedom of expression and a reminder of the strength of a seemingly modest format that can tell powerful stories.
