    Inside Ada Sokół’s extraordinary imagination

    Ada Sokół’s masterpieces put the admirer in immediate awe: super sleek and close-to-perfection renderings, soft pastel colors, and bizarre motives allow the viewer a glance into her extraordinary imagination. The Warsaw-based artist evokes an ultra-sensory experience that often ties play in futuristic settings or fantastic sceneries as she doesn’t like to be restricted by our realms. Influenced by all things beauty and maybe a little bit by growing up as Poland's first 3D designer’s daughter, Ada Sokół has mostly taught herself the magic of 3D art and since has been working on her own projects as well as for clients like Burberry Beauty. Meet a very unusual bread of an artist!

    Something's Awry on their new 3D creepy tale ‘Unlucky Charms’

    After releasing an animated short “Grump in the Night” earlier this year, family-run Something’s Awry Productions is back with “Unlucky Charms,” a creepy horror short that came out just before Halloween. Maxon talked with Kris Theorin, the studio’s lead animation director, about how he and his brothers, Nik and Kurtis, wrote the script and made the ambitious film using Maxon One, Unreal’s MetaHuman and After Effects.

    Reimagining a Classic: 3D zero-gravity running shoe

    When Swiss athletic shoe company, On, recently upgraded their classic Cloud 5 shoe, they reached out to FutureDeluxe to create four films to showcase the brand’s craft, comfort and engineered detail. 3D artist Jordi Cerdà Gaya was called on to model and texture the features of On’s updated Cloud 5 running shoe using ZBrush and Cinema 4D. Maxon talked with Cerdà Gaya about the project workflow, Gaya’s self-taught career as a 3D artist and his plans for the future.

    Sarofsky on creating the titles for HBO's "The Staircase"

    HBO Max’s true crime miniseries “The Staircase” explores the story of Michael Peterson and the suspicious death of his wife Kathleen, who was found dead at the bottom of the stairs in their palatial North Carolina home in 2004. Chicago-based Sarofsky was called on to create an elegant title sequence that spoke to the story’s labyrinthine plot, utilizing reflections, distortions, layers and perspectives to kaleidoscopic effect. The team spoke to Maxon about their work that foreshadows the true crime drama’s themes and a family divided. Created with Cinema 4D, After Effects, Photoshop, Flame and Octane the title sequence is based on a multi-layered, transparent three-dimensional house.

    Reebok’s FW20 Campaign Goes Retro

    When Reebok wanted CG renderings of visuals and animations for their FW20 line, they reached out to Black Math, asking the design studio to come up with creative ways to connect the shoemaker’s heritage look with today’s styles. Playing with CG in various environments and playgrounds, a design-first company of digital wizards connected past and future for the iconic running shoe brand. Maxon talked with Black Math Executive Producer Evan Fellers about how they approached the retro campaign, particularly the workflow challenges they had to overcome and how Cinema 4D helped them stretch boundaries of commercial work in new and exciting ways.

    Sensing life and structures in micro, macro and cyberspace

    How we use digital technology today determines how we experience it in the future.     Get to know the multitalent - Fons Hickmann

    From having studied design, photography and philosophy, founding a design Studio “Fons Hickmann M23”, over to holding lectures and workshops at several universities, to being a professor at Berlin University of the Arts.     Friedrichsdorf, Germany - March 30, 2022 - Maxon, developer of high-quality creative tools for visual effects artists, congratulates Paul Lambert on winning the 2022 ACADEMY AWARD® for Best Visual Effects for the film Dune, beating out a number of impressive competitors including Spiderman: No Way Home and Free Guy. Paul also took home a Special Visual Effects BAFTA Award for his work on the film at the awards ceremony on 13 March 2022. According to Paul Lambert, it was one of his best experience in post-production, revolving around Redshift tool, which helped out to bring magic to reality.

Austrian designers Sophie Falkeis and Kris Hofmann have made it their mission to impact the world around them positively with what they do.
