Her work bridges society, culture, and design, connecting public institutions with diverse, younger audiences often through the lens of moving images that extend into graphic, digital, and spatial design.
Beyond her role at Thonik, Gonnissen engages in artistic projects addressing social themes with a distinct visual language aimed at uniting people and organizations. She also contributes to the design community as a teacher, guest lecturer, and was recently the president of AGI, where she emphasized design's empowering role in society at international conferences.
Nikki wants to talk about inspiration and the importance of culture. And specifically about the women who have inspired her, inspirational women who shaped her, her work, and her life. She truly believes that sharing visual culture is central in our lives, it helps us to understand each other. Learning about each other brings people together, it bridges cultures and worlds.
