Dian Warsosumarto is a Vienna-based Creative Director and Brand Consultant with 20+ years of experience in brand storytelling, strategy and campaign development. He’s worked with global brands like Mercedes-Benz, Samsung and Heineken, as well as purpose-driven challengers like woom bikes.


Originally trained as a designer, Dian approaches brand building with a mix of intuition and craft. After leading creative teams at Jung von Matt, DDB, Cheil and VICE/Virtue, he founded CAINNÉ ANGSTE in 2022 — a consultancy focused on helping brands grow through meaningful ideas and culturally relevant narratives.


From 2022 to 2025, he served as Global Creative Director in Residence at woom, supporting the disruptive kids bike brand’s evolution into a global scale-up.


Dian values collaboration over ego and believes that strong ideas grow out of listening, not just talking.

For over 20 years, Dian Warsosumarto poured his creative energy into the industry — shaping campaigns, leading teams, and helping brands find meaning. He worked with global names, mentored dozens of creatives, and founded his own consultancy. Still, he never became the next Dave Droga. And that’s exactly the point.


This talk is a candid reflection on what it means to have a solid career in advertising — without the myth, without the medals. It’s about learning to let go of external validation, embracing the in-between, and finding joy in the process itself. Because in the end, the real reward isn’t status.
