Zurich-based concept store Waldraud curates the first ever Forward Boutique

We are extremely delighted to launch The Forward Boutique in the context of Forward Festival Zurich, taking place from 1st to 2nd of June 2018 at KOSMOS. The Forward Boutique is a culmination of clothing products and fashion accessories from international brands we love, and know our visitors will love too.

For the inauguration of The Forward Boutique in Zürich this year, we invited Waldraud to curate the boutique especially for our brand conscious, international creative community. We believe in quality and beauty, and the Boutique will reflect our taste for both. We sat down with Ann and Lorenz from Waldraud to hear more about their ideas for the first Forward Boutique.

Can you tell us a little about the concept behind Waldraud?

We love design and fashion objects that stand out from the crowd, tell their own stories, are produced with love and craftsmanship, and satisfy our quality standards. Customers should experience that „wow-moment” when entering Waldraud at Josefstreet 142 in Zurich or on waldraud.com. Since 2011, we invite them to explore our brands and products in a relaxed way.

Which brands are you currently obsessing over?

• Hanahzo natural soaps from South Korea
• Matter Matters pins and jewellery
• Books and stationary from the brand The School of Life
• Creatures from BigStuffed
• And of course our collaboration Natalie Born X Waldraud

Can you give us a little insight into your collaboration with Natalie Born?

We have been working with Swiss illustrator and designer Natalie Born for about three years. Her work is a playful exploration of humorous characters, whimsical animals and graphic botanicals. At Waldraud, we stock her stylish and funny paper cut greeting cards. For the Forward Festival, we asked Natalie to make a special edition of postcards by taking inspiration from this year’s Forward theme “construct – deconstruct”. It resulted in modernistic geometric patterns drawn with promarkers.

During Kreislauf 3 4 5, she will also exhibit a broad range of her illustrations at our store where customers will also be able to preview some of the special postcard editions for the Forward Festival.

What can Forward visitors expect to see or experience at the Forward Boutique in Zürich?

We have curated an eclectic mix of furnishing accessories like gadgets, stationary, books, as well as fashion accessories such as jewelry, skincare products, and apparel. For the Forward Festival Zurich, we also scouted for some new interesting brands and products.

We can’t wait to share these exciting and thoughtful brands with our visitors!

The Forward Boutique will be launched at Forward Festival for creativity, design and communication, taking place 1-2 June 2018 at Kosmos in Zürich.
