The presidential elections in the US are approaching rapidly and campaigns are arising to motivate US citizens to participate in the elections and make use of their voice. OBEY founder, Shepard Fairey, has designed a series of posters starring Snoop Dogg for the voting initiative ‘Vote With Snoop’. Together with the voting advocacy groups RockTheVote, 1VoteCloser, and social justice initiative OneOpp, the rapper and Fairey are trying to mobilize US citizens to go and vote on election day.

Snoop Dogg announced that this year’s elections will form his debut in taking part in an election and voting himself. “This is gonna be the first election I am voting in. How the system is set up, I honestly didn’t know that I was allowed to vote based on my past history. My record has been expunged so I’m gonna be out there this election. I have to get involved,” he said. “As I’m looking around at what is happening in the world right now, I know that we need to make an immediate change and we can’t sit back idle, which is why, along with OneOpp, I’ve partnered with Rock The Vote and 1VoteCloser. I’m gonna use my voice and Influence to let people know that the only option is to get out and vote.”

The posters will be placed in several cities around the states and carry slogans like ‘I Vote because Black Lives Matter’ and ‘I am voting this election for the first time because I can’t stand to see this punk in office another year’.
