Every month, the Forward Magazine brings you a selection of musical pearls hand-picked by friends, musicians, speakers of the Forward Festival and many more. The 17th edition is curated by Forward Festival speaker Max Siedentopf.

Max’ edition of Press Forward has to be the most diverse in our collection. From pirate shanties to African beats up to folk music and unmistakable hits by Tony Holiday. Look forward to relaxed remixes and classical music. There is literally something in it for everyone!

Originally from Windhoek, Namibia, Max Siedentopf works as an artist, publisher, director at “riffraff”, co-founder of “Ordinary magazine” and creative director and partner at “KesselsKramer”, where he is the only human being to have worked at all three offices (Amsterdam, London, Los Angeles).
Max leads KesselsKramer’s creative division where he has worked the past 5 years for a multitude of clients ranging from cultural institutions, fashion and tech brands all the way to the worst hotel in the world. Erik Kessels is not Max’s grandfather.
Next to this, Max is known for his artistic diversity, especially for his Slapdash Supercars, the Banana-Series or his meaningful photo series “please ask for permission before you stick your sausage there,” where he pictured sausages stuck into car tailpipes.

Max also has some experience in the field of music. Earlier this year he created the ultimate monument for one of the greatest songs ever with his installation for Toto’s Africa in Africa. For one of his latest projects, he stepped in for popstar Sigrid in her latest music video, due to a chain of unfortunate events. This is why he gifted us with this rare jewel of him dancing, singing and – as he describes it – embracing embarrassment. Enjoy!
