Variable Fonts with Adam Katyi

 

In the presentation, Adam Katyi introduces the possibilities of the new technology. He explains how to use it as a graphic designer and how it can make a design even better. By introducing the new font format, the talk takes a look into the future: it’s only a matter of time before it becomes widespread. Visitors to the lecture will be able to use Variable Fonts with confidence, which will positively influence their work.

Through communication and exhibitions, the ongoing project addresses issues of future relevance in a meeting between design, craftsmanship, art, research and technology. In March 2021, The Mindcraft Project will present a new digital exhibition with explorative and experimental design from Denmark.

Architektur in Progress // Franz&Sue | Michael Anhammer -„Franz&Sue und die vielen Geschichten“

 

After studying architecture at the Vienna University of Technology, Michael Anhammer also worked for a time as a film critic and organizer of film festivals. Together with Christian Ambos and Harald Höller he founded Sue Architekten in 2006. In 2008-2012 he was chairman and spokesman of IG Architektur. During this time Sue Architekten, together with Franz Architekten, was one of the initiators of the “Fightclub”, which enables young architectural firms to regularly discuss their competition designs with colleagues. This also led to increased collaboration with Robert Diem and Erwin Stättner, who founded Franz Architekten in 2009. In 2017, the two teams merged to form Franz&Sue and developed the “Stadtelefant” creative cluster with colleagues. office and for whose realization they won, among others, the Bauherrnpreis 2019.

Melbourne Design Week

 

Melbourne Design Week returns in 2021 with its largest program to date hosting 11-days of national and international designers in 300+ series of talks, tours, films, workshops, exhibitions and launches.

In 2021, designers come together at Melbourne Design Week to explore the theme: ‘design the world you want’ through the lenses of care, community and climate. Participants will explore how the design community can work together to create a better, healthier future for the planet and its inhabitants.

Application Deadline for Berlin Design Week

 

From May 27 – June 06, BERLIN DESIGN WEEK 2021 will feature a program of exhibitions, showrooms, workshops and the OPEN STUDIO NIGHTS. The theme of the BERLIN DESIGN WEEK 2021 is “NEW TRADITIONS”.

Designers, artists, studios, cultural institutions, universities and companies can apply to participate in the curated 2021 program starting in December 2020. Registration will run until March 14, 2021.
