FUN WITH LETTERS – FROM BASICS TO DIGITAL
- Vienna / MAK - Austrian Museum of Applied Arts / Forward Stage
Wald und Schwert and Lettering Garage give a comprehensive workshop aimed at all levels of skill to provide you with the tools and techniques for basic brush lettering and the digital post-editing. You will learn different brush pen techniques and the process of turning your handmade sketches into digital pieces of letter art.
We will begin by covering the basics of brush lettering to further understand how letters are constructed and will go on to practice shaping letters. Finally, we will put the newly acquired skills into use by writing our own word of choice which we will edit digitally in part II of the workshop.
In the second part, we will transfer our sketches into the digital world and learn different approaches on how to enhance the effect of your pieces using techniques applied with the Adobe Creative Suite.
We aim to have fun with letters, learn the rules of the trade and how to brake them and finish our time together with a digital artwork ready to be posted on your platform of choice.
What you will need:
– preferably a notebook and an installed version of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
What we provide:
– pens, paper and workshop materials
The workshop will take place on Saturday, the 28th of April, at the 1st floor of the MAK (entrance Weiskirchnerstrasse 3). The registration fee for the workshop is EUR 180.
