Stefanie Moshammer is a visual artist whose hybrid practice involves various media. Always with the attempt to form an internalised repertoire of memories and to formulate them to the outside.

Her story started in Austria, graduated in Textile Design at the Fashion School Vienna, received a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design & Photography at University of Art and Design in Linz and she attended the BA in Advanced Visual Storytelling at the Danish School of Media and Journalism. This explains, why Stefanie can incorporate pre-existing material, textile elements and moving images to the photographic image like no other.

Stefanie’s images move between the genre of documentary and fiction, between spontaneity and staging. Her use of vivid colors, strong contrasts, unexpectedly cropped scenes, and her ability to make subtle observations are what make her photographs so distinctive.

For her talk at Forward Festival Stefanie Moshammer will showcase
how personal experiences form her work and how she finds the
transition between the intimate and the public in different medias.
