Forward Festival Vienna Recap
It’s a wrap! 3500 visitors, more than 40 speakers, 3 floors and 2 after parties – that was Forward Festival 2017 in Vienna.
The first festival day started with interesting talks by design and typography magazine Slanted, artist and musician Sofie from Boiler Room, Swiss brand Freitag, Berlin typographer Eike König, online magazine Dezeen and many more. The conference ended with Swedish banding studio Snask, which complemented their exciting talk with musical performances by their agency rockband.
Interactive agency wild, which also designed our website, held the first talk on the second conference day. Speeches by English illustrator Mr. Bingo, motion graphics studio Pfadfinderei from Berlin, senior curator at MoMA Paola Antonelli and last but not least the information design legend Erik Spiekermann followed.
Our second stage invited festival guests to listen to special-interest lectures by Lürzer’s Archive, buero bauer, 99U, Design made in Austria and Arte Creative amongst others. The diverse workshops by Adobe, WeTransfer, Virtual Identity, Jägermeister or Serviceplan offered hands-on experience in many different fields.
In-between conference talks the attendants were able to explore the expo area with many interactive partner booths. Whether it was experiencing your idea-generation process at the Creative Journey by MINI, letting your inner child out at the Business Lounge (aka bouncy castle) by MailChimp, giving digital graffiti presented by T-Mobile a try, celebrating love in every form in front of the Diesel Love Wall or designing your own typography at the Adobe stand, the festival visitors had many activities to choose from.
