London’s fashion exhibitions have explored handbags, dresses and hats and now focuses on sneakers. Kensington’s Design Museum is stomping onto the scene with a spring showcase dedicated to the king of footwear: trainers. From sneakers that were created specifically for athletes, such as the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star (originally crafted as a basketball shoe in the 1920s), to the latest high-fashion iterations and the celebrities who have made them firm sartorial staples, this exhibition explores the subcultures inspired by shoes as much as the designs themselves.

Vienna Biennale for Change

The Vienna Biennale for Change focuses on THE challenge of our times: the climate crisis. The motto “Planet Love” says it all: It means a fundamentally new relationship of humans to the earth, which instead of maximum resource exploitation aims at careful use of the earth and is supported by humility, respect and appreciation of its biological diversity and beauty. Climate care is reflected as a central aspect of PLANET LOVE and goes far beyond the decarbonization of economy and society; it encompasses the question of how we can put our relationship with the Earth on a sustainable foundation and always has social dimensions as well.
