Outstanding posters from Germany, Austria and Switzerland are awarded at the yearly competition „100 beste Plakate“ (100 best posters). The design competition started in 1966 in Germany and from 2002 on designers from Austria and Switzerland could participate as well.

„100 beste Plakate“ shows a big variety of posters and demonstrates the high quality that characterizes the design world in the DACH area. The fact that numerous posters are submitted by students proves that there is a multitude of excellent young designers. The best posters are shown in various exhibitions, for instance at the Museum of Applied Arts in Vienna, and are published in an annual book.

In the last competition more than 2.000 projects were submitted. Among the exceptional awarded posters you can find „Astronautovic“ dedicated to the Austrian football player Marko Arnautović designed by Stefan Joch from Studio Zwupp, who is also responsible for the design of the Forward Festivals.
Open Call: Until January 23rd you can submit your own posters for the competition for 2016. Designer, clients and printing companies from Austria, Germany and Switzerland are invited to participate. You can find all necessary information on the competition’s website: http://100-beste-plakate.de
